The “Bring us a Pretty Rock” Membership Promotion + Extremely Serious Terms & Conditions

Promotion Summary

Past Lives Makerspace (“PLM”) offers a limited-time membership promotion (the “Promotion”) for new members. Eligible participants (“the Participant” or “You”) may receive one (1) of the following upon satisfying the requirements below:

• $50 off one (1) month of membership; or

• $100 off a membership contract.

The Promotion applies upon completion of a facility tour and delivery of one (1) Pretty Rock at the time of tour. No additional obligations, contingencies, or ongoing conditions apply beyond those expressly stated herein.

Eligibility and Application

To qualify, the Participant must:

• Be a new member of Past Lives Makerspace;

• Complete a facility tour;

• Deliver one (1) Pretty Rock to PLM at the time of tour.

 Upon satisfaction of the above:

• The discount is applied at the time of membership purchase;

• The Promotion applies to one (1) membership only;

• The Promotion has no cash value and may not be transferred, deferred, redeemed, or combined.

Failure to deliver a Rock at the time of tour results in ineligibility. No substitutions, delayed offerings, symbolic representations, or alternative objects are accepted.

ROCK TERMS & CONDITIONS

Definition of “Rock”

For purposes of this Promotion, a “Rock” means a naturally occurring solid material originating from geological processes, including:

• Igneous rock;

• Sedimentary rock;

• Metamorphic rock.

For purposes of this Promotion only, individual mineral specimens are expressly deemed Rocks.

Definition of “Pretty”

A “Pretty Rock” is any Rock that You, to the fullest extent of Your reasonable judgment and aesthetic capacity, believe to be pretty. You represent that this belief is held:

• In good faith;

• Without material misrepresentation.

 PLM:

• Shall not judge, rank, score, critique, or evaluate Your taste;

• Accepts Your determination as final and binding.

 
Acceptable Characteristics

A qualifying Rock may be of any:

• Color;

• Pattern;

• Opacity;

• Texture;

• Finish.

Including, without limitation: smooth, rough, shiny, dull, waxy, chalky, clear, opaque, uniform, irregular, or otherwise geologically present. No minimum or maximum size applies, provided the Rock can be reasonably transported by one (1) adult human without mechanical assistance.

Prohibited Materials and Representations

The following do not qualify:

• Uranium ore;

• Asbestos;

• Any geological material presenting a reasonable safety concern.

 You further represent and warrant that the Rock:

• Is not sentient;

• Is not animated or enchanted;

• Is not imbued with supernatural agency;

• Does not whisper, instruct, or provide advisory opinions of any kind.

Rock Acquisition and Legal Status

By participating, You represent and warrant that:

• The Rock was obtained legally;

• No trespass, theft, coercion, or deception occurred;

• The Rock is free and clear of all liens, claims, encumbrances, adverse ownership interests, lawsuits, or pending disputes;

• Acquisition did not place You or others at unreasonable risk.

PLM assumes no responsibility for citations, injuries, disputes, or rescue efforts related to Rock acquisition.

 
Ownership, Use, and Disposition

Upon delivery and acceptance:

• The Rock becomes the property of Past Lives Makerspace (“PLM”).

You release all rights in the Rock, including:

• Ownership claims;

• Sentimental attachment;

• Visitation rights;

• Retrieval or future use rights.

PLM, including its Jewelry & Lapidary Guild, may:

• Cut;

• Polish;

• Study;

• Display;

• Transform the Rock into finished work or other forms.

You acknowledge that the Rock, or something made from it, may be used in a future Jewelry & Lapidary Guild fundraiser supporting shared tools, programs, and community efforts. Such a fundraiser may or may not occur and, if it does, may quietly benefit many people.

Identification and Valuation

PLM makes no guarantees regarding identification or classification. Informal identification may be offered at discretion and carries no warranty. Rocks tendered under this Promotion:

• Have no monetary value;

• Shall not be appraised;

• Shall not be returned;

• Shall not be exchanged for additional consideration.

Any value is symbolic, creative, or personal.

General Acknowledgments and Acceptance

By participating, You acknowledge and agree that:

• The Promotion is intentionally unconventional;

• The use of formal contractual language is deliberate;

• The founder of PLM (Morlock) has a documented appreciation for rocks;

• Participation constitutes full acceptance of these terms.

Reading this document in its entirety is not required, but it is generally regarded as a green flag.
